The Swoosh and the Californian skateshop Atlas revisit the SB Dunk High , taking inspiration from the mishap nicknamed “ Great Shoe Spill of 1990 ”. The storm of the late 1990s caused the loss of more than 60,000 pairs of Nikes when a ship crossed from Korea to the United States. Air Flight 89s had notably been found stranded on the Californian coast...
The Nike SB Dunk High Atlas Lost at Sea (2020) has an off-white upper on its contrasting blue base at the Swoosh, outsole and ankle collar. Cracked suede and patinated midsole matched to cream-colored laces imitate the state the pairs found themselves in after drifting for several months in the ocean. The tongue is similar to that found on the Air Flight 89 , with the recognizable typography, revealing “Nike SB Atlas” here.
Original design and a nod to the event that left its mark on the minds of enthusiasts, this iteration extends the Dunk range for the enjoyment of the community!
