The Beaverton brand is once again teaming up with visual artist Tom Sachs to celebrate 10 years of their NikeCraft collaboration. This time, the New York designer wanted to create the simplest sneaker possible. So simple that it aims to make us experience things to the fullest, to be completely ourselves, because our sneakers shouldn't be the most interesting thing about us.
The NikeCraft Tom Sachs General Purpose Shoe Light Cream reveals a beige mesh base, complemented by off-white suede overlays. A white heat-sealed swoosh adorns the panels of the lowtop nicknamed “boring”. Several royal blue details are incorporated via the embroidered pull-on straps on the tongue and heel. A rubber midsole, accompanied by a black Waffle-type outsole, finalizes the minimalist design.
Durable and versatile , this new silhouette from Nike reminds us that beauty comes from creating a bond with the objects we own: we stain them, we tear them, we repair them.
