In the 1980s, when the basketball shoe market was dominated by giants like Adidas and Converse, Nike made a significant breakthrough with the launch of the Nike Dunk High in 1985. Designed by Peter Moore, the Nike Dunk High was a bold response from Nike to establish itself on the basketball courts.
